Swirlywand Baseball Awards- Opening Week

"MISSING- OFFENSE, FIELDING, MANAGER".
Considering my two teams haven't REALLY been playing baseball during Opening Week, I could NOT in good faith give out any Swirly Wand awards for baseball this week.

It's too early in the season to call the bugles out for Taps, but suffice to say, after Opening Day, the week went from bad, to worse, and then just flat out embarrassing. The only person who deserves a mention is Roy (oswalt not halladay)- He has to have some kind of record for worst run support in the history of MLB...

So, instead of awards this week, I'm going make some suggestions for Jerry Manuel and Omar Minaya. I'm a fan, but based on this past week's performance, they may need to ask FANS who are watching the games what is going on because it's clear, they don't have their heads in the game.
1. Why is Mike Jacobs the METS clean-up hitter? He was batting 0.047 before his homerun today. That's not a batting average, that is a blood alcohol level. I'll leave the "why is he the Mets first baseman?" question alone...I don't care if we have a substitute 1st baseman while The Murph gets back- but Frenchie, David, heck- EVEN Pagan or Cora or HEY- our new addition- JASON BAY (memba him?- all star, power hitter) would all make sense.
2. Is Luis Castillo on a path to the DL? He's been playing less than week, and has missed 2 games. I know things are bad when I'm worried we may LOSE Luis Castillo to the Mets medical staff merry-go-round.
3. Watch the MASN broadcast of Sunday's Nats/Mets game. Bob Carpenter said "the mets are a lot like the Nationals". If that isn't enough to figure out how to motivate a team, I don't know what is...
